Frequently asked questions
What is a tuk-tuk?
Tuk-tuk, rickshaw, baby taxi: there are many names to describe our vehicle. It is in fact a Piaggio Ape Calessino 200 motor tricycle. A vehicle straight from Tuscany with the aesthetic of the 50s. We are right in the Dolce Vita!
Tuk-tuk rides always take place with your pilot who is also your guide. Our pilots are young inhabitants of Namur, passionate about their city.
Is it ecological?
This vehicle was designed in 1948, but ours was purchased in 2020 and meets the latest environmental standards.
Even if the tuk-tuk consumes much less than a car, we have decided to make our tours truly ecological! For each 20 kms traveled by our vehicle, € 1 will be invested in biodiversity within the Citadel of Namur.
Can we take a tour with several tuk-tuk at the same time?
We only have one vehicle. If you are a small group, we can suggest that you organize several tours one after the other.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The tuk-tuk circulates no matter the weather! It has a convertible top that protects you from the rain.
In case of exceptionally bad weather we will contact you to ask you if you want to maintain the ride.
Can I take several guided tours in a row?
There is no problem in combining two walks in a row.
How much will my child pay?
Children staying on the lap of adults pay the supplement of 2 or 3 €. The others pay the standard fare.
Can my dog ride in the Tuk-Tuk?
All animals are accepted on board, as long as they are clean, are not afraid of Tuk-Tuk and have good character. This also applies to humans.
Are rides accessible to people with reduced mobility?
The walks are accessible to people with reduced mobility. This is the most convenient way for someone who has difficulty walking to visit the Citadel.
Are there any special comments for people who are hard of hearing, visually impaired or mentally retarded?
Comments are made by the driver and are not recorded in advance. Pilots adapt their comments to passengers. There is no extra charge if the ride lasts longer to facilitate understanding.
For the hard of hearing, we can print the comments. Please notify us at the time of booking.
Who manages the tuk-tuk?
The tuk-tuk belongs to the association #Namur Inc. It was bought with the help of the Tourist Federation of the Province of Namur. We also collaborate with the Namur Tourist Office for which we manage the rickshaws. This partnership aims to introduce the heritage of Namur to as many people as possible and has a cultural and non-commercial vocation.
